Remake of “The Wolfman” stars Benicio Del Toro
“Even a man who is pure of heart and says his prayers at night”…. Can’t stop yet another Hollywood horror remake! With nearly every one of the major Universal monsters classic horror films of the ’30s been remade, it’s time for a 21st century remake of “The Wolfman” to stand alongside “Dracula,” “Frankenstein,” and “The Mummy.”
Slated for release in April 2009, the film stars Benicio Del Toro in the title role as Larry Talbot, taking on the part made famous in the original by Lon Chaney, Jr. Talbot returns to his ancestral homeland and is bitten by a werewolf. Sir Anthony Hopkins plays Talbot’s father, Sir John Talbot. Tales of gypsy lore are also woven throughout the story, adding even more mystery to this occult thriller.

With this major remake on the way, perhaps Werewolves are going to be the new thing for Halloween 2009? Get your howl on early and start stocking up on silver bullets and werewolf costumes early! Given their prominence in the film, gypsy costumes may be predicted in the Halloween ’09 crystal ball as making a comeback, too!
