How to make an Ahsoka Tano costume

Ahsoka Tano from the Star Wars Clone Wars is Anakin Skywalker‘s padawan. She’s sassy and stubbon and shares numerous personality traits with her Jedi mentor. Here’s a quick, easy way to create your own Ahsoka Tano costume!

Step 1: Pull your hair back into a tight bun that will be concealed beneath your headpiece.

Step 2: Either purchase an Ahsoka Tano headpiece or create your own. If you want to make your own, you can use papier mache to create a model of her headpiece and allow it to dry, or pick up a pair of opaque white tights. The waistband of the tights will fit neatly over your head and you can cardboard to make the peaks of Ahsoka’s headdress. Use your dark blue fabric pen to draw the stripes onto your headdress and add green triangle-shaped patterns around the part that borders your face.

Step 3: You can shorten up the “legs” of your opaque white tights on the headdress by tucking and them up further and carefully pinning them. The thicker fabric of the tights won’t run of you do this carefully. Stuff the marked “legs” of the headdress with some cotton batting to give them more body. Place the headdress on your head.

Step 4: Apply several coats of self tanner to any skin that will be exposed. You may also want to use bronzer, too. Ahsoka has an orange-y cast to her skin so you will need a definite bronze coating to acheive this look.

Step 5: Put on a brown tube top and mini skirt. With summer approaching, you may even find brown bandeau bikinis online or in stores and bikini briefs with an attached skirt or cover-up in a sturdy microfiber fabric.

Step 6: Put on a brown belt. If you want Ahsoka’s draped panel down the front, you can pick up an inexpensive brown or purple scarf and hang it down the front of your belt.

Step 7: Pull on a pair of brown boots.

Step 8: Pick up a pair of brown gauntlets. If all you can find are black gauntlets, pick up a can of spray paint and hit them with a quick coat, allowing to dry overnight before wearing.

Step 9: Use white cream makeup to paint on the pattern that is on Ahsoka’s face and her markings.

Step 10: Pick up your green lightsaber and prepare to jump into the fray!
