Making a Rudolf costume can be fairly simpler when you have a sewing machine and pattern. The pattern can be for any one piece suit with long sleeves. The accessories are what will make the costume. If you can find a deer pattern for costumes that will be better, but any PJ like costume will work.
Step 1: To start you need brown and tan material. The brown material will be the majority of the PJ part of the costume. You will need the tan material for the belly. Velcro works really great, if you don’t like to use zippers to close the costume up at the back.
Step 2: The black material will be used for the hooves. It can also be a dark brown. The hooves will be easier to form as they should just be mitten style for the hands, and something to cover the shoes of the costume.
Step 3: Next you need to create antlers. The antlers can be made out of the black or dark brown material using bunting to pad them. The antlers will then be sewn or glued to a head band.
Step 4: The last step is creating the face. You can use your own face if you don’t like wearing a mask. To do this you need face paint to make the right skin tones of a Reindeer and add a wider mouth. The red nose will go on after the face paint.
