How to make a Bernie Madoff
Bernie Madoff may be headed to the hoosegow for scamming celebs out of billions of dollars, but that doesn’t mean you can’t admire the man’s moxie. Okay, okay… so what the guy did was illegal and unethical. However, it takes a certain amount of charm to be able to pull off a scam of that magnitude. Bernard Madoff kept his cool throughout, much like the epitome of ’50s cool, Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli on “Happy Days.” I propose one last hurrah for ol’ Bernie before he heads off to the Big House and pay tribute to the “Fonzie of Ponzi” with a humorous DIY costume for your next shin-dig.
##Things You’ll Need##
* Acrylic or fabric paint
* Stencil letters (OPTIONAL)
* White t-shirt
* Black boots
##Dressing up as Bernie Madoff the “Fonzie of Ponzie”
Step 1: Put on a plain white t-shirt and blue jeans. This is typical ’50s greaser style. For added effect if you take your jacket off, tight-roll the sleeves of your white t-shirt.
Step 2: Put on your black boots.
Step 3: Decorate the back of your black (pleather) jacket. If you want to re-use the jacket, find paint that will flake off or can be easily removed so as not to warp the pleather of the bomber or motorcycle jacket. Take your stencil and write “Ponzi” across the back of your jacket in large letters with a slight arc.
Step 4: Swing on your new Ponzi jacket and put on your Bernard Madoff mask.
Step 5: Hoist a hearty thumbs-up and greet party guests with a resounding “Aaaaaaay!”
