What Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen costumes can we expect?
Snippets of the storyline and a list of all of the “robots in disguise” characters slated to make an appearance in the new film, “Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen” has just been released! For a complete list of all of the Autobots and Decepticons that will be featured in the upcoming sequel to the live-action version of the mega-popular ’80s carton, look here.
Standing alongside some of the top Autobots from the first film, such as leader Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, the yellow Camaro companion to the Autobots’ main human ally, Sam Witwicky are new characters who were not seen in the first film. Many of the new names are taken from the old cartoon. In keeping with a pattern laid out in the first Transformers movie, these familiar faces will undergo slight modifications in order to give the well-loved characters a more modern twist. For example, Bumblebee of the ’80s was a Volkswagon Beetle before he was changed into a sleek yellow sports car in the new wave of films.
So, we know guys like the Autobots and major player Decepticons like Starscream will be a part of Transformers 2, but what else can we expect to see? For starters, there will be a female Autobot. That’s right! Her name is Arcee and she transforms into a motorcycle. A holdover from the original Transformers cartoon, Arcee was pink and white, later purple and white.
With the addition of a female robot to the Transformers saga, hopefully, we’ll see a brand new costume that girls can wear! Hey, it isn’t just the boys who played with Transformers back in the day!
Here’s a sample of what Arcee could look like in the film:
Other characters that will be new to the film (but not neccessarily the Transformers cannon) are Devastator, a large Decepticon made up of seven different Constructicons and of course, The Fallen. The character that the title of the film may be named for gives a glimpse into the potential plot of the film with “The Fallen” picking up the slack for the (suppposedly) deceased Megatron. “The Fallen” is one of the ORIGINAL Transformers and one bad robot. In the comics, he was one of thirteen original robots created by the good possessor of “the spark,” Primus. The Fallen eventually turned on his creator and sided with Primus’ evil brother, Unicron. (If you know anything about old school Transformers, Unicron was the ultimate baddie!) Hopefully, we’ll see a costume for “The Fallen” show up sometime this year before Halloween!
Check out a picture of The Fallen from the Transformer’s comic. Aren’t you curious to see what he’ll look like in the film… and possibly as a costume?!
Keep your fingers crossed! Until then, there are still costumes based on both the cartoon and movie versions of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. We’ll keep you posted as soon as new Transformers costumes hit the market! Which Transformers would you like to see costumes made of?
Til then, to get a full-fledged look at the film, fans will have to wait until June 24th, but you can check out the film’s trailer here for a taste of what’s to come!
