Jigsaw Costumes Back in Action with Saw VI

Saw Costume

The movie Saw has somehow managed to capture the attention of Americans, though some will call it excessively grotesque, others find the Horror flick to be entertaining. Saw has made it to the sixth instalment, which will be released on October 23, 2009.

As some will say the “Game Comes Full Circle” in this new film. Special Agent Strahm is dead and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the victor in the last round. Now Hoffman will have to once again fight the enemy, even though Jigsaw is supposedly dead. Hoffman is forced to set a game in motion when the FBI gets closer. In Saw VI it is said that Jigsaw’s Grand Scheme will finally be revealed.

For anyone looking for costumes this means you have the option of resurrecting Jigsaw costumes in time for Halloween. Jigsaw will be played by Tobin Bell in this sixth film, with Costa Mandylor as Hoffman. Other actors in the film include Betsy Russell, Mark Rolston, Peter Outerbridge, Shawnee Smith, and Samantha Lemole.

Love them lycanthropes! New trailer for 2010’s “The Wolfman”

wolfman
Although it was initially thought that 2009 was going to be the Year of the Wolf. As it turns out, 2009 has been split down the middle, dominated by vampires and zombies making a huge comeback. In spite of all of the mania surrounding the Twilight series of films’ latest, lycanthrope-laden flick, New Moon, the wolves have wisely backed away out of firing range of Sarah Palin’s sniper helicopters and plan to come out of hiding in 2010.

Leading the pack in their onslaught on theatres in 2010, werewolves are poised to strike with a remake of The Wolfman. One of Universal’s most iconic horror films, The Wolfman is the latest in a string of horror movies that are reaching back into the catalog for ideas to splash up onto the silver screen.

A Review of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol Costumes

Scrooge Costume

Surely Charles Dickens had no idea how popular his novel A Christmas Carol would turn out to be. It has spawned over five feature films since 1938 to the present. With so many films based on the novel it is easy to find a myriad of different costumes for Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and all the other characters.

The first thing about any of the Christmas Carol costumes is that they are all based on the mid 1800’s. Charles Dickens first published the book in 1843, thus the period costumes. Our first look into A Christmas Carol was offered in 1938 in which Hollywood took a concise and straightforward approach to the Dickens tale. Ebenezer Scrooge was played by Reginal Owen with Marley’s ghost as Leo Carroll. Edward L. Marin directed the film in black and white. The film begins with an introduction into the book describing the character of Ebenezer Scrooge. The Scrooge costume you can adopt from this film will be the formal business suit with a long tail coat, overcoat, cravat, and top hat with cane. It is the costume we first see Mr. Ebenezer Scrooge in before his bedclothes.

Jonah Hex: New pics from 2010’s cowboy/zombie flick!

Jonah Hex movie poster
Jonah Hex is a double-whammy in terms of films coming out in 2010. Not only is it a comic book-related film (the Jonah Hex character’s book was relaunched several years ago on DC’s non-superhero, more adult-themed Vertigo line), but it also stars current horror/comic book it-girl, Megan Fox.

The film centers on a post-Civil War, Wild West era disfigured bounty hunter by the name of Jonah Hex. The cult classic comic book title character is portrayed by Josh Brolin in the film. Megan Fox portrays a saloon girl/prostitute who’s quite handy with a gun that aids Hex in his missions.

A New Nightmare Revealed! A first look at Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger!

Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger
A new, two-minute teaser trailer has been revealed for the brand new reboot of the Nightmare on Elm Street horror franchise. The trailer gives a glimpse of Oscar-nominee Jackie Earle Haley slipping into the iconic striped sweater and razor glove of the demonic Freddy Krueger. Most recently, Haley portrayed Rorschach in the film adaptation of Watchmen. Whether he can make the same impact re-interpreting a well-known character remains to be seen. Eager fright fans will be able to see for themselves how this latest in a long line of classic, ’80s horror remakes pans out when the new Nightmare on Elm Street hits theatres on April 30, 2010.

As evidenced by the trailer, you can count on lots of action and lots of explosions, particularly since Michael Bay (Transformers) is a producer. Plus, you get to see a pre-fricassee Freddy as Springfield’s least favorite son/child killer tries to outrun the angry vigilante mob of parents. It makes his post-burn transformation all the more startling.

Break Out the Butterbeer! The Harry Potter Theme Park is Coming!

Harry Potter Theme Park
Harry Potter fans have something to look forward to, possibly as early Spring 2010. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, new Harry Potter theme park, will find its home at the Universal resort and theme park in Orlando, FL. Orlando and Universal receive thousands of yearly visitors from across the pond, making this a great spot for American, British, and European fans of the Harry Potter books to congregate.

The theme park is a massive undertaking and painstaking details and planning have gone into its production. Of course, Harry Potter’s creator, author J.K. Rowling has given the project her stamp of approval. This sprawling 20-acre park site attempts to recreate some of the Potter-verse’s most memorable locales. Shops and eateries like Olivander’s wand shoppe (where it has been confirmed that visitors can purchase their very own souvenir wands) and Honeyduke’s candy emporium are proposed, as are pub-style restaurants such as The Three Broomsticks which will serve butterbeer and traditional British pub fare to hungry visitors. A replica of Hogwarts Castle is also supposed to be on premises, as well as countless other favorite places from the series.

Seventh Moon A New Kind of Horror- Costume That Is!

Seventh Moon Costume Idea

Every year a number of movies are released into theatres or onto DVD. Some of the films created are cut straight to DVD, rather than spending time in theatres. As always the box office is a tough place to get, especially if a director is new to the scene. The creators of Seventh Moon are not unknown to us, but the movie was not considered enough of a smash to land in theatres.

Seventh Moon will be out on DVD on October 6th, 2009. It may be the new kind of horror film you need for Halloween. Sure you can bring out your favorites like Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, etc., but why go for the old when something new and interesting is just waiting for you.
