Halloween is just a little over two months away, and now is the time to start getting ready if you haven’t already. Recently we came across a list of 2009’s Funniest Adult Halloween Costumes. Each one of those costumes was innovative. They were also some of the most fun costumes you might see this year during Halloween. It’s not just about the pretty face or sexiest costume some of these great costumes on the list were also the goriest ones that could be found. We decided to create our own list of top costumes some will be from this list we found, while others are from our own polls.

This week’s top costume is Michael Jackson. Everyone is remembering the King of Pop. With the “Beat it Jacket,” and Michael Jackson’s Thriller costume it’s not hard to see why Michael Jackson is the top costume.

The Droopers Waitress Costume is up next in our list. This funny costume is a Hooters Parody. It is an adult male costume to beat all costumes.

“Good” in the Sack Costume is next. All you need is a potato sack, and a male to put in it.

The Sexy Stud Finder Costume is perhaps the most perfect of all the costumes. This great idea has a blue jean mini skirt, oversized toolbelt, construction boots, hammer, and hard hat. What truly makes this costume perfect is the cone halter top.

Circus costumes are not only funny, but they are one of our top costumes for the week. It doesn’t matter whether you want to be a clown, Bearded Lady, or host of the circus you can have it all.

Snake Eyes costume from GI Joe makes the list as well. This one might not be funny, but it certainly gives ninja a new look.

Are you part of a couple? Then number seven just might be for you. The Perfect Husband costume provides a beautiful tuxedo style suit complete with marionette strings. That’s right you can lead your husband around the party like a puppet!!

For children and number eight is Hannah Montana. Who doesn’t want to be a pop star singing some great songs while collecting candy? Hannah Montana costumes are definitely in this year for the young girl or teenager.

The Plug and Socket Couple’s Costume is definitely an original. For the woman there is a dress with a socket on the front. The male with a plug and cord is for the male part of the costume.

Harry Potter Costumes will also be on the top ten list this Halloween. Whether disappointed in the movie or not, the costumes from all Harry Potter films and the books are going to be sought by hundreds of children and adults again this year.

Even if you do not like one of the costumes on this list there are literally hundreds you can choose from. Halloween will be here before you know it, so now is the time to begin ordering all the accessories you need!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince showcases J.K. Rowling’s “Potterverse” translated from her novels to the big screen during rather dark times. With Lord Voldemort risen again and gathered his Death Eaters, not to mention the increasingly dark turn of the Ministry of Magic, the students of Hogwarts School of Wizarding find themselves placed in increasingly dangerous situations. Harry Potter, himself, has been affected thanks to the death of his beloved godfather and protector, Sirius Black, at the hands of Black’s own cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange. Factor in that Harry’s kindly mentor, Hogwart’s headmaster, Albus Dumbledore has shown up with a peculiarly blackened and withered hand and isn’t quite his normally cheery self, and these are dark times indeed for Harry and his friends.

Among some of the new characters fans will get to see on celluloid are Potions Master, Horace Slughorn (played by acclaimed actor Jim Broadbent), taking over for Snape, who has now assumed the position of Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts. Other new characters include young Voldemort as his persona of Tom Riddle, the troubled yet evil young man Dumbledore attempts to take under his wing, and Riddle’s dysfunctional dark wizard family, the Gaunts. Rounding out the cast (and just in time for all of the hype of werewolves being the new vampires… Thanks “Twilight: New Moon”!) is Fenrir Greyback, a very ornery werewolf who lives for the hunt and kill.

In preparation for the new film, Harry Potter costumes are already becoming a popular seller. Represent your house of choice with colorful scarves to attend a midnight showing, or even catching a matinee! Or, get really crazy and bust out the Muggle equivalent of Polyjuice Potion and whip up your own costume to dress as some of your favorite characters! Paul Sevilla is a collector of hot wheels cars. Who at one time or another hasn’t been? Hot Wheels came to the world in 1968. The concept was a simple one. The company designed toys patterned after the real cars. There are over 15 million boys and girls between 5 and 15 who collect Hot Wheels. They are still the number one selling toy in the USA. Paul Sevilla is a little different than the rest of the collectors in the US though. He met a woman named Rose Curtis whose husband was an avid collector of the toys.

She told the media that it didn’t matter where they were traveling he would stop in the local shops to find a Hot Wheels car, truck, or vehicle he didn’t have. Unfortunately Jim Curtis died of pancreatic cancer a few years ago. At the time of his death the Hot Wheels collection was more than 3,000 strong. All of the toys were still in the package. Sevilla was trying to help Rose Curtis sell them, but with the current economy it has become very difficult.

So, instead he has made a pact with the American Cancer Society. Children suffer from cancer, some spend their lives in hospitals waiting for a cure in hopes it will come before they succumb to the disease. These children love to play and be entertained just like any child. Paul Sevilla recognised this and felt he could not keep the Hot Wheels collection he has in his garage. If he couldn’t sell them to help Rose Curtis then he could at least donate them to children who need their spirits lifted. Thus with a deal the Hot Wheels cars will be provided at the Camp Catch a Rainbow in honor of the late Mr. Jim Curtis.

So it doesn’t matter whether it is donations for cancer or a costume idea – Hot Wheels are a way to help brighten a child’s day. Even if you do not have a collection to donate consider creating your own Hot Wheels costume or donating a pre made hot wheels racer to a charity. Consider organising a Hot Wheels costume party where children are able to come dressed as a Hot Wheels and they may bring a toy or monetary donation for the charity.

You can speak with your local hospital or search out your favorite charity for the donation. If you wish you may ask for the children in the hospital ward to be a part of the party. There are hundreds of options when it comes to creating your Hot Wheels party with costumes especially for paying it forward.

if you are an avid reader of our blog (:D) you probably remember that we expected Batman and the Joker to be a big hit this year, one of the most popular Halloween costume for 2008 and this even prior to Heath’s passing… Right on, huh?

No doubt, Hollywood movies take the top spots this year, but surprisingly, Hannah Montana has disappeared… Would Miley have lost her popularity amongst youngsters due to this year’s not-so-good attention she drove to herself? I say, probably.

The Transformers costumes will be really popular again next year as Transformers 2 -Revenge of the Fallen reaches the movie theaters in June 2009… They just come and go!

So here you go. Oh and yeah, get your Joker costume ASAP if you want one, it won’t last.

As a recap, so far this year we’ve seen great trends, and really no surprise. From the month of May to pretty much now, we’ve seen the 2008 Blockbuster movies owning the Top positions of our most popular costume ideas report.

First, Iron man costumes and Indiana Jones costumes took over for several weeks in a row, owning top 5 spots but slowly started to lose positions as the #4 all time movie came out: Batman the Dark Knight.

I covered this many times here on the CostumZee blog, but it was clear that Heath Ledger’s performance as The joker was going to spark hundred of thousands of fans of all ages to pay tribute to the actor by wearing The Joker costume for movie premieres, week end parties and this Halloween.

There is no question about it at this point, and i am not taking any risk here: The Joker will be the #1 most popular costume idea this Halloween, and certainly be the most searched costume online as Hannah Montana was last year.

So here is the July 2008 top 5 costume ideas:

A lot has happened in the past 2 weeks and it’s time to catch up once again! With Mardi Gras, Valentine’s Day (in 8 days!) and President’s Day in February, you would think that most popular search costume ideas are directly related to those Holidays… as proven below, it is simply not!

Another big surprise is the drop of Hannah Montana which held top 3 rank most of 2007… Bye bye Hannah.

We actually saw a few changes in September over August. First, it does look like people who knew what they wanted went online and already got it.

Now is the wave of people (maybe you?) who are looking for a great costume idea, and have to deal with out of stock products, and all the popular stuff is almost mostly gone. Bummer. Don’t wait, believe us, out of stock products are starting to appear across online costume stores…like the Hannah Montana costume.
