Comprised of two brothers (Moe and Curly Howard) and their longtime friend, Larry Fine, the Three Stooges were a vaudeville comedy team that used physical, slapstick humor in their act. Each Stooge had their designated role: Black-haired Moe with his distinctive, thick bangs was the ringleader and aggressor of the group, often bullying and picking on Curly and Larry. Larry, the level-headed (and frizzy haired) Stooge, still went along with Moe’s plans in spite of the fact that he knew better. (Larry just didn’t want to get bonked on the head. Can you blame him?) Perhaps the “Super Stooge,” was Curly, the big stooge with the crewcut and the mind of a happy-go-lucky and easily excitable child.

The film will combine a mixture of live-action actors along with stop-motion animation (like Corpse Bride and The Nightmare Before Christmas) and digital CGI. Even more ambitiously, this format will later be transposed to 3D — which, judging by the stills and production art, will probably make for a very trippy experience on the other side of the looking glass. Check out the art below and stills to get a sneak peak at what you can expect from this freaky fairy tale made just a tad more twisted:

Robert Downey, Jr. is back in the title role, as is Gwyneth Paltrow as his secretary, Pepper Potts. Although his cameo came at the end of the first Iron Man flick, Samuel L. Jackson’s role of Nick Fury has been expanded in the new film. New additions to the cast this time around include acclaimed actor Don Cheadle stepping into Terence Howard’s role of Col. James “Rhodey” Rhodes, Scarlett Johanson as Black Widow, and Mickey Rourke as the film’s Russian villain, Whiplash.

The Ghostbusters are celebrating their silver anniversary this year. The 1984 comedy cult classic starred an ensemble cast bringing the quirky paranormal experts/scientists to life including Bill Murray as the snarky womanizer, Peter Venkman; Dan Akroyd as the brainy yet naive Ray Stantz, Ernie Hudson as the no-nonsense hired gun Winston Zedmore; and Harold Ramis as the strictly scientific Egon Spengler.
2009 proposes to be the Year of the Ghostbuster with a 25th anniversary edition of the film being released on DVD and Blu Ray on June 16th and Atari’s Ghostbusters: The Video Game released on the same day. The premise of the video game is that New York is haunted once again and the Ghostbusters are taking on new recruits. The player gets to insert themself into the game as the newest member of the Ghostbusters’ team. A trailer for the game can be found here.

You may not know the name, but any one who’s seen the new Star Trek movie will recognize Hemsworth as Captain George Kirk the doomed father of Captain James T. Kirk. The Australian actor may not be the most muscular guy around, but his performance in the sci-fi flick was memorable. We’ll see how that translates to his performance as a Norse god of thunder.
Additionally, an unknown actor has also been cast in role of Thor’s arch-nemesis and fellow Asgardian, Loki, god of chaos. Tom Hiddleston has been awarded the part of the mischevious Loki. Hiddleston has won numerous awards and is a graduate of Britain’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. While American audiences may not know him, he comes highly recommended.
All’s been quiet on the Western front, as of late, regarding new movies coming out for 2010. Right now, fans are buzzing about movies still to come this summer, such as Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen and G.I. Joe. Still, we’ve seen the trailers for these films about 1,000 times already, salivating until we can get our mitts on some tickets at the box office in just a few weeks.
So, once summer’s gone and we’ve snapped up today’s top box office draws on DVD… What do fans have to look forward to? Comic book fans, Western afficionados and horror mavens will be chomping at the bit to check out the big screen adaptation of Jonah Hex in theatres come August 2010.

So, is the new flick worth making the Trek to the theatres to check out? You bet your Vulcan ears it is! While you can’t please everyone, the new Star Trek reboots the franchise back to the original series’ early days with a fresh-from-the-Starfleet Academy crew’s early years aboard the Enterprise. However, as the film’s tagline states: “It’s not your father’s Star Trek.”

You may think of orange and black when you hear “Halloween,” but this October 31st, you might want to think “green”!
Going green has become more than just a trend, but a way of life. With so many businesses adopting eco-friendly policies (that will earn them government aid and tax breaks), living green touches nearly every aspect of people’s lives from driving, recycling, and even advertising.
Bearing that in mind, it’s only logical that Halloween costumes will be going green in 2009. Green themes are already coming out in abundance with costumes celebrating greener living. Here is a sneak peak at some of the costumes that will be hitting stores for Halloween 2009 with a cleaner, greaner style in mind:

Hollywood continues to impress us with their movie making abilities. After a top weekend at the box office with Xmen Origins: Wolverine, 20th Century Fox announced two new films. The first film is going to star Magneto. X-Men Origins: Magneto is set to release in 2011. The latest in the comic series takes us back to the beginnings of Eric Lensherr and Charles Xavier.
We already know from the first X-Men film that Eric was alive during the Nazi capture of Jews. His parents were ripped from his arms, and as he became angry he manipulated the metal surrounding the camp. He did survive, but the question has always been how and why? We know from the other three films that Magneto and Charles Xavier were friends, but when did they meet? What caused the riff we all see? These and more questions will be answered with the Xmen Origins film.
