The story follows the original game with a young street urchin in ancient Persia adopted by the Sultan himself for a show of bravery. The Sultan declares the youth, Dastan, his heir. After a instrument of the gods called “The Sands of Time” falls into the hands of an evil nobleman (played by Academy Award Winner, Ben Kingsley), Nizam, Dastan has to recover the object and restore order to the kingdom. Additionally, there’s a princess and a creepy, leperous looking character that skulks in the shadows on the trailer.

While no officially licensed Prince of Persia costumes are available just yet, a number of items are available to get the jump on your crafting your own costume. Try picking up a brown chin length wig in a touseled, yet masculine style. Then go for a classic breastplate of armor in a silver or goldtone style with gauntlets and wristlets to wear along with your costume. Of course, you will also need a scimitar — the traditional curved sword favored by ancient Middle Eastern warriors. A Sultan robes and a long, thin mustache and goatee to create a Nizam/evil nobleman costume of your own… Until Disney markets official costumes for the film!

The ’80s original centered on four Vietnam veterans who were framed for a crime they didn’t commit. They take the show on the road to evade the military police, helping out people along the way as they attempt to clear their names. In the original, Mr. T played B.A. Baracus (”B.A.” for “Bad Attitude”), the A-Team’s mechanic and muscle. George Peppard was Hannibal, the group’s cigar chomping leader who “love it when a plan comes together.” Dwight Schultz was “Howling Mad” Murdoch, the team’s resident loose cannon and Dirk Benedict was Templeton “Faceman” Peck, the group’s prettyboy and master of disguise.

While you gotta pity the fool that steps into Mr. T’s shoes, UFC fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson just may have the mettle, muscle, and humor to bring it to the role of B.A. Baracus. (Anyone doubting Rampage’s sense of humor has to see this past week’s episode of Ultimate Fighter 10.) Rounding out the cast is Liam Neeson as grey-haired Hannibal, Bradley Cooper as Faceman, and Sharlto Copely as Murdoch. Jessica Biel is also part of the cast, although what role she is playing has yet to be confirmed.

The plot sounds about the same as the original series, the only difference being the substitution of the characters being veterans of the first Gulf War as opposed to the Vietnam war. Hopefully, the A-Team van will be a part of the big screen adaptation, too! (Please don’t let Hannibal drive an SUV. Please.) The scheduled release date for the new A-Team is June 11, 2010.

Get a jump on putting together your A-Team costumes for next year. Grab a bunch of gold chains and a mohawk wig (try the Mr. Hammer version!) to pull together your own “Bad Attitude.” Or, for a John “Hannibal” Smith costume try a fake cigar, a short grey men’s wig, and a pair of black leather gloves. Don’t you just love it when a costume comes together?!

Director Louis Leterrier’s remake of Clash of the Titans stars Sam Worthington (Terminator: Salvation’s reluctant human/droid hybrid, Marcus as the hero Perseus and Liam Neeson as Zeus, King of the Gods. A new addition of Hercules as a main player with Ralph Fiennes (no stranger to fantasy films himself as Harry Potter’s arch-nemesis Voldemort) cast in the role of Hades, Lord of the Underworld.

The new version of Clash of the Titans’s description sounds as if it takes a detour from the legend of Perseus from classic mythology. In the film, Perseus’ family is killed by the evil Hades who plans to unleash his domain on Earth and usurp power from Zeus. Perseus attempts to avenge his family and rallies a group of heroes and gods to combat monsters and thwart Hades’ attempts to rule the world.

Although no photos of the infamous Medusa have surfaced, it has been confirmed that the serpentine she-demon will be in the film. Rumor has it that the design for this creature is something spectacular. Although the plot of Titans seems to have deviated from the original tale, die-hard classics fans would be up in arms with the omission of a key part of the story of Perseus.

Regardless of how you view the Tooth Fairy she or he traditionally deposits a quarter (or however much a tooth is worth now due to the cost of inflation) beneath the pillow of children who have lost a tooth. The kid puts their tooth under their pillow, and during the night, the Tooth Fairy swaps out the teeth in exchange for cash and prizes. Not a bad deal! (Too bad they don’t do that for adults!)

Due in theatres January 22, 2010, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson steps into the role of the Tooth Fairy. Banish any notion of frilly tutus. While he will have wings, The Rock’s version of the Tooth Fairy sports a much more masculine get up, as evidenced by the movie poster for the flick, although there are a few scenes with him sporting more traditional Tooth Fairy garb. The film’s premise focuses on a cocky minor-league hockey player who is famous for knocking out the teeth of opponents. When he gets busted by the REAL Tooth Fairy (Julie Andrews) for killing dreams, he is enrolled in a crash course in Tooth Fairy school — complete with wings and pastel blue tights!

Leading the pack in their onslaught on theatres in 2010, werewolves are poised to strike with a remake of The Wolfman. One of Universal’s most iconic horror films, The Wolfman is the latest in a string of horror movies that are reaching back into the catalog for ideas to splash up onto the silver screen.

It seems that there are a few subtle differences in the new Wolfman flick to differentiate it from the 1941 classic starring Lon Chaney, Jr. For starters, Benecio Del Toro has been cast in the role of Lawrence Talbot. The reluctant werewolf no longer goes by the more easily accessible “Larry” Talbot as he did in the original. Nope. This time around, the filmmakers decided to nix the (more interesting and less explored) post-WWI time period in favor of the Victorian era. (Which has been done to death already, pardon the pun.) Stepping into Claude Raines’ role as Larry… err… “Lawrence”’s father is Sir Anthony Hopkins. A gander at the trailer reveals the elder Talbot to be less sympathetic to his son’s rather hairy predicament than Raines’ interpretation in the original yielded.

The new remake of The Wolfman is slated for a February 10, 2010 release. If your curiosity has been piqued, you can check out the trailer for The Wolfman here.

Start stocking up now on some werewolf costumes and masks of your own and start combining them with some Victorian duds to craft your own look well in advance of 2010. Gypsy costumes may also find themselves on the rise as well. After all, who else is going to tell the big hairy guy that even a man who is pure of heart isn’t quite safe from a need for some serious man-scaping once the wolfsbane blooms?

The film centers on a post-Civil War, Wild West era disfigured bounty hunter by the name of Jonah Hex. The cult classic comic book title character is portrayed by Josh Brolin in the film. Megan Fox portrays a saloon girl/prostitute who’s quite handy with a gun that aids Hex in his missions.

Not the only big, box-office draws, Brolin and Fox are joined by actor John Malkovich in the role of Quentin Turnbull, the film’s villain. Although initial reports indicated the character of turnbull would be similar to his comic book counterpart and would be a former Confederate soldier, hell bent on raising an army of Southern soldiers to avenge their defeat, a scriptwriter has refuted this sort of storyline. Instead, they’ve opted for a more realistic sort of plot with Turnbull being an angry, defeated Confederate terrorist who wants to avenge the South by less macabre means. Sorry, folks. Looks like zombies won’t play a part in the new Jonah Hex film.

Although new details of a fully confirmed and fleshed-out storyline for the film have yet to materialize, new photos of Josh Brolin in makeup as the disfigured Jonah Hex have surfaced!

If you’re trying this look out for yourself, break out the spirit gum and fake skin to create a similar look on one side of your face, giving a punctured hollowed out look near your mouth. Put on a Cowboy hat and Duster to complete this look!

You have until the film’s tentative June 18, 2010 release date to come up with your own interpretation!

The theme park is a massive undertaking and painstaking details and planning have gone into its production. Of course, Harry Potter’s creator, author J.K. Rowling has given the project her stamp of approval. This sprawling 20-acre park site attempts to recreate some of the Potter-verse’s most memorable locales. Shops and eateries like Olivander’s wand shoppe (where it has been confirmed that visitors can purchase their very own souvenir wands) and Honeyduke’s candy emporium are proposed, as are pub-style restaurants such as The Three Broomsticks which will serve butterbeer and traditional British pub fare to hungry visitors. A replica of Hogwarts Castle is also supposed to be on premises, as well as countless other favorite places from the series.

Beyond that, rollercoasters and rides make up a good portion of the park. The Dragon Duel ride features two twin rollercoasters, while The Flight of the Hippogriff is a slightly tamer rollercoaster more suited to families, as opposed to mega-thrill seekers.

The one aspect of the park that is still under wraps, guarded with the typical secrecy surrounding nearly every Harry Potter project, is an attraction known as “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.” From the photos on the site, it may be speculated that this is a haunted house-style attraction, or some sort of a role-playing scavenger hunt.

One minor, disappointing detail revealed about The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is that there will not be any costumed characters roaming the park, a la Disney World. However, that’s not to say visitors can’t strut their stuff with pre-made Harry Potter costumes based on their favorite characters, or even DIY versions of other beloved characters like a href=”http://www.costumzee.com/how-to-costumes/view/4950/”>Luna Lovegood and Professor Snape.

Although it’ll be a long wait until spring, some photos have been made available on the site of some of the proposed drafts for the attractions.

A few months back, a local came across a girl on the beach who, from a distance, looked to be relaxing in the sun. Upon a closer look, she had the upper body of a woman and the lower half of a fish with scales and fins. She appears for a few hours near sunset and does tricks for onlookers in the sea, yet disappears for the remainder of the evening.

A $1 million dollar reward has been offered for anyone who can snap a photo of the mermaid in action.

People have long been fascinated by mermaids, from the times of ancient Greece to centuries ago when Hans Christian Anderson wrote his tragic fairy tale, “The Little Mermaid,” which was Disney-fied up with a happy ending for singing mermaid, Ariel and friends. Some skeptics claim that some of the mermaids sighted are nothing more than manatees swimming close to the beach.

Kiryat Yam seems to be boosting tourist numbers with the prospect of seeing a mermaid. Will the fascination with these (possibly?) mythical creatures carry over to Halloween costumes? These cool, oceanic beauties may find themselves on the hot list for 2009 Halloween costumes if mermaid sightings keep up, planting a subtle cue to capture the attention of party-goers the same way Israel’s mermaid has become a focal point.

A number of beautiful styles of striking (and surprisingly easy to walk in!) mermaid costumes are available in a variety of sizes to suit sea sprites of all ages. Little girls may want to opt for the more familiar face of the Little Mermaid with officially licensed Disney costumes and wigs. However, other mermaid costumes are available in a variety of colors and styles, ranging from pink to shimmering green, and some with dazzling sequins.

Adult ladies may want to choose from slightly racier styles that can either offer full coverage (such as the Elite Mermaid costume with it’s beautiful hot pink bodice and cleverly ruffled tail in aqua blue) or the glittery two-piece, midriff baring Mesmerizing Mermaid costume. Fun accessories you may want include a sea-themed tiara or a “seaweed” draped Mermaid Purse or Shell Purse.

Who knows, you just might be mistaken for a real mermaid!

Attempting to solidify zombies’ status is the release of the upcoming film, Zombieland starring Woody Harrelson, Abigail Breslin, and Jesse Eisenberg, due in theatres on October 2, 2009. Zombieland takes place where most zombie films do, in a post-apocalyptic sort of world which has been rendered to this state thanks to a freak occurrence of zombies running amok. The two men who find themselves as survivors in this zombie-populated world include Eisenberg as the wimpy Columbus who survives through fear and Harrelson as Tallahasse, a machine gun carrying bad ass who not only wants to survive, but get his hands on the last Twinkie in existence — a noble cause if there ever was one. Promising to be part comedy, part horror, Zombieland may be the American equivalent to the brilliantly hilarious British Shawn of the Dead a few years back.

With Zombieland’s release weeks before Halloween, this may inject a dose of fresh blood into creative costume ideas. Nearly any costume you can think of can be zombiefied. Michael Jackson, already a popular costume idea can be zombiefied with just a dab of blood:
