Atlanta-based restaurant chain Chick-fil-A will celebrate its annual Cow Appreciation Day event tomorrow Friday July 11th 2008, by offering a free meal to any customer who isn’t too chicken to visit its restaurants fully dressed as a cow.
Here is the deal: you will receive a FREE COMBO MEAL if you are dressed as a cow from head to “hoof”, or a FREE ENTREE if you’re partially disguised as a cow…
They’ve been in business for 40 years, I wonder is that event has been going on for that long!

I recently came by a new kind of costume creation which, if you can believe it, is entirely made of PAPER!
Isabelle de Borchgrave is the master behind all made of painted paper costumes.
“Isabelle de Borchgrave was born in Belgium in 1946 and began her studies at the age of 14 at the Centre des Arts Décoratifs in Brussels. She went on to establish her own studio, designing dresses, scarves, jewelry and accessories. She later specialized in designing fabrics.
A major turning point in Borchgrave’s career came ten years ago with her exhibition, “Papier a la mode,” at Mulhouse. It consisted of thirty lifesize outfits made of painted paper.” (read more)

Wearing a costume at any party can already require a lot of self control, they can be scratchy or uncomfortable, but it’s so fun that we pass that and enjoy it… until the 4th or 5th drink when you start removing parts of it
What about running a marathon in a costume? What about simply running a marathon? Is that not already incredibly difficult?
Well, some people like adding difficulty to challenges and they need to get credit for that! Check out the photo gallery here, it has a collection of marathon runners in costumes, such as the indiana jones costume, storm trooper or Borat…

I love Pixar, I have said it
many times, their story as a company is incredible, they have the most creative on Earth working for over there, and their movies are just AMAZING successes!
So today, WALL·E is out. If you haven’t seen the commercials on TV (maybe you don’t watch commercials), here is the synopsis from IMDb, watch out, it contains spoilers:
“What if mankind had to leave Earth, and somebody forgot to turn the last robot off? After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, WALLE (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALLE has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet’s future, and races back to space to report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that it is safe to return home).”

All the big “blockbuster” movies are all out at this point and it is time for a recap and take a look at the potential popularity winner for this Halloween. We had already look at some of them a few months ago, so who’s the winner?
Iron Man - definitely THE winner, $297,918,329 cumulated at the box office (as of today).
The Iron Man costumes have sold like insane for weeks, and now hitting a slow down, but you can expect Iron Man costumes and accessories to sell at a high rate early in the Halloween season, and should become unavailable by mid-September… so don’t wait too long!

This costume has been long waited for… Many of you have posted comments to forum threads and blog posts about it, “where can i find it? how does it look like? Where can i buy one?”… I can only answer one of those questions so far, so without waiting any longer, I have the pleasure to give you an official preview of the Sweeney Todd costume:
So if you were thinking about dressing up as Sweeney Todd for Halloween and did not have any idea what to do about it, this could be your luck. I have unfortunately no idea whom will carry the costume though, but a fair bet would be that any major online halloween costume retailer will, or they’d be missing on a hot product for sure!

With the latest installment in the Chronicles of
Narnia, “Prince Caspian” hitting theatres this past weekend, Caspian costumes are sure to be a big hit with kids this Halloween.
The second movie in the series follows the C.S. Lewis-penned saga of the four Pevensie children who enter the mystical world of Narnia through an old wardrobe during WWII-era Britain. The first film, “The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe” set the stage for the four children to become kings and queens of Narnia, restoring the land to its former glory and warding off the evil White Witch. This time, the children return to Narnia one year later, which is actually several hundred years in Narnian time. Evil has again closed in on the land and it’s up to the Pevensie family to restore the rightful heir to the throne, Prince Caspian.
A family-friendly feature film, the latest Narnia film may prove to be a big hit on the costuming scene this year. This time, there are several different officially licensed costumes for playing dress up or for Halloween. Girls can dress as Lucy in her princess attire and boys have the option of dressing as Peter in his knightly battle armor or as the dashing Prince Caspian himself.

Just when you thought it was safe… Wait, wrong film franchise. This summer, Star Wars goes where the saga has not gone before (to mix another sci-fi metaphor), into an animated feature film hitting theatres on August 15, 2008. “The Clone Wars” occupies the space between Episodes II and III of the new Star Wars trilogy and features all of the main characters in pixilated form, such as
Anakin Skywalker,
Obi Wan Kenobi,
Yoda, and even Jabba the Hutt. Click
here to check out the trailer for “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”
Rabid Star Wars fans will be happy to know that they’ll be able to get even more of a Force Fix on a weekly basis with a new Star Wars television series in the works. The television series will focus on lesser-known characters in the Star Wars cannon instead of the Skywalkers, Solos, and other familiar faces. This will make for a great opportunity to tell new stories without already-established outcomes that fans are well-educated on. New characters will bring an air of suspense to the Star Wars saga and paint the extended universe in a richer, and wider scope. Check here for more details on this new series.
