Dragons Have Been Unleashed in Dragon Age Origins

Dragon Costume

Are you looking for a different costume to wear to your next party? Maybe the recent release of PS 3 game Dragon Age of Origins will offer you some perspective on a costume. Children’s stories have always been ripe with tales of mythical creatures such as Dragons and this new video game brings the concept back.

Dragons are as old as time, having been prominent mythical creatures since the early man. The story of Beowulf was one of the first tales to bring dragons to the forefront and combine it with another type of mythical monster. Many movies and books based on the Middle Ages bring Dragons along for the ride. No matter how you picture Dragons they are always fearsome and powerful animals.

Gearing Up For Thanksgiving with Costumes

Thanksgiving Turkey Costume

Thanksgiving is just around the corner; well okay it is November 26th, 2009. Still the holiday will be here before you know it and if you are not ready with a costume you might just miss out on all the fun. Who says you have to just dress up in costumes at Halloween. Sure most of the Thanksgiving costumes are worn by children for their school pageants, but that doesn’t mean you cannot have some fun too.

This year instead of the traditional holiday where you wear regular clothes consider spicing it up with some great Thanksgiving costumes. You have the pilgrim costume and the Native American costume, or you could go for something a little more fun.

Spooktacular Fun Halloween Costumes!

Staples Easy Button Costume
Each year it is a tossup of what you will see on the streets during Halloween evening. This year I was able to view over a hundred costumes along a local street. During my escapades I was amazed, disappointed, and laughing. The disappointment came from the ten or so pirates I passed, mostly because they all looked alike. But it was the fun costumes that made me laugh and some were just plain amazing for the ingenuity they could offer.

My top favorite costume for the Halloween Trick or Treating experience was the ‘Staples Easy Button.’ The individual wearing this costume went all out. It was not just a button attached to a sweat suit, and unfortunately I did not have a camera. He created the easy button with cardboard, paint, and other materials. First the costume was square and on the front was the round red and white easy button, however it got even better. If the button was pushed little sensors would go off flashing. Now that is what I call genius!

Balloon Boy Costumes make it Before Halloween

Balloon Boy Costume

If you are from Colorado like I am you may be a little tired of hearing about the supposed publicity stunt created by the Heene family. A few days ago the news was alive with a boy missing supposedly on a homemade air balloon. Many went out to help search for the missing boy and one person even managed to tackle the balloon in hopes of rescuing the boy. However, Falcon Heene was never in the balloon instead he was in his family home up in the attic.

Little Falcon was on CNN with his family and he let it slip to the media that the event was for “show.” His father supposedly planned the entire event. Colorado news media has suggested that the DA will be bringing charges against the family for the danger they could have caused as well as brining out rescue teams that could have been needed elsewhere. Nothing has been set yet regarding the criminal charges, but one thing has come from this massive hunt for a missing boy.

Get ready for the new “A-Team”!

Quinton Rampage Jackson and Mr. T
Remakes of all things ’80s have reached a fever pitch. The latest on the block is a movie redux of the television show that brought Mr. T to primetime and into homes everywhere: The A-Team.

The ’80s original centered on four Vietnam veterans who were framed for a crime they didn’t commit. They take the show on the road to evade the military police, helping out people along the way as they attempt to clear their names. In the original, Mr. T played B.A. Baracus (”B.A.” for “Bad Attitude”), the A-Team’s mechanic and muscle. George Peppard was Hannibal, the group’s cigar chomping leader who “love it when a plan comes together.” Dwight Schultz was “Howling Mad” Murdoch, the team’s resident loose cannon and Dirk Benedict was Templeton “Faceman” Peck, the group’s prettyboy and master of disguise.

While you gotta pity the fool that steps into Mr. T’s shoes, UFC fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson just may have the mettle, muscle, and humor to bring it to the role of B.A. Baracus. (Anyone doubting Rampage’s sense of humor has to see this past week’s episode of Ultimate Fighter 10.) Rounding out the cast is Liam Neeson as grey-haired Hannibal, Bradley Cooper as Faceman, and Sharlto Copely as Murdoch. Jessica Biel is also part of the cast, although what role she is playing has yet to be confirmed.

Greece’s golden age hits the silver screen with 2010’s Clash of the Titans remake!

Clash of the Titans remake
Remake madness is afoot yet again, with Hollywood greenlighting scripts not just for classic horror remakes, but also classic fantasy film remakes. Set for a wide release on March 26, 2010, Clash of the Titans has been given a makeover. The 1981 starred Harry Hamlin (formerly of L.A. Law and now better known as Mr. Lisa Rinna) as the hero Perseus, son of Zeus. The all-star cast included Laurence Olivier as Zeus and a dazzling array of stop-motion monsters by special effects wizard Ray Harryhausen.

Director Louis Leterrier’s remake of Clash of the Titans stars Sam Worthington (Terminator: Salvation’s reluctant human/droid hybrid, Marcus as the hero Perseus and Liam Neeson as Zeus, King of the Gods. A new addition of Hercules as a main player with Ralph Fiennes (no stranger to fantasy films himself as Harry Potter’s arch-nemesis Voldemort) cast in the role of Hades, Lord of the Underworld.

Illegal Alien Costume — Pun or not Funny?

The illegal alien costume has caused quite the stir over the past few days.

A number of immigrant rights advocates are up in arms over the illegal alien costumes that have appeared on the costume scene in the past year or so and many stores like Target.com have reacted by pulling the products from their websites.

Political satire and popular culture are a major source of costumes, and with the issue of illegal immigrants, or “illegal aliens” as they’re commonly referred to has certainly been at the forefront since the last presidential election. It was a major campaign issue.

Grab Your Marge Simpson Costume for Halloween

Marge Simpson Playboy Costume
The Simpsons is perhaps the most popular animated television show to hit primetime. The show was created by Matt Groening. At first The Simpsons were little shorts on the Tracey Ullman Show. They first appeared in 1987. The small sketches were such a hit that in 1988 Fox picked up the show for a series to be released for the 1989 season. Since then The Simpsons have been warming households each week.

This year for Halloween if you want to be one of The Simpsons characters you certainly have plenty of options. There are Bart Simpson costumes, Homer costumes, even Snowball II costumes. But for a truly great costume consider Marge Simpson costumes.
