Based on a true story, “21″ hit theatres this week, telling the story of six MIT students who turned the tables on Vegas casinos using math and probability to beat the odds. Heroes to everyone who has ever lost and lost big in Sin City or Atlantic City, these students leveled the playing field, turning the crap tables on an industry designed to profit from patrons’ losses. Check out the trailer for the film here.
Even if you can’t beat the system, cheer on the guys and gals who can by donning some casino costumes. Score the look of a high roller with dollar trimmed accessories, or sit on the side of your favorite Sin City score-settlers as Lady Luck, clad in elegant head to toe green.
Make a statement with a One Armed Bandit costume. Spruce up a slot machine costume with bandit accessories like a robber’s mask and a sack of “money.”.

Is it me or Christmas decorations, candies and inflatables have made it in the stores even before Halloween was over? A trip to Home Depot mid-October hinted me that some stores are already playing holiday jingles…Pff, ridiculous.
Aisles at almost every store in the US were allocated to Christmas decorations by the end of October.
I’ve read somewhere a store manager saying that because Christmas decorations sell early, they need to fill up the stores early. What about waiting another 4 weeks to do that? Like mid-November or right after Thanksgiving, I am sure you’ll still sell out… Oh yeah, it’s all about money.

“It’s astounding! Time is fleeting! Madness takes its toll!” Over 27 years later, The Rocky Horror Picture Show maintains a fan following so rabid that the film refuses to be merely contained to DVD or the silver screen. Sure, you can check out the cult classic on DVD or at various midnight showings still staged throughout the country. However, the only way to truly see The Rocky Horror Picture show is at a costumed showing, acted out by the fans in tandem with the actual film shown on screen.
All over the country, fans turn out in droves, dressed in full costume regalia as their favorite characters from the film. A select few participate as leads by acting out the roles of the principal characters, but the entire audience takes part interacting with the film. From chucking toast at the screen when “A toast!” is called for to doing The Time Warp out of their seats, everyone becomes a part of the wild and wooly festivities.

not an actual coupon code
Did you know that you can order costumes and decorations this week and still get it for this week end’s parties? Most online stores will ship orders with a 2 or 3 day shipping, some even with overnight/1 day shipping.
In order to help you out with your late Halloween shopping, we decided to open a section that is usually ONLY available to our members. In the section, you will find coupon codes and shipping deals at some of our merchant partners, a great way to save a few bucks and get your costume on time by the week end!

We got some nice coverage this week from TechCrunch, Search Engine Watch, and Google Blogoscoped.
It was a very nice write up from TechCrunch:
Search by tag, see related costumes, review costumes, give costume ideas ratings by stars, build your profile - it’s a little hard to find the RSS URL for a search but other than that Costumzee is very 2.0 and the company knows it. You can also view other users’ lists of costume ideas, so if you’re dying to find out what Michael Arrington is going to dress up as this year (?) perhaps you’ll be able to find out after he reads this post. The most important part of the site is that users can make their own costume suggestions - this is more than just a one way trip through affiliate links.
It’s nice to get some great feedback on our vertical search model. It is absolutely much more than affiliate links. Thanks for noticing, Marshall.

…another Halloween shopping season.
Halloween has become big business online, growing into a billion dollar industry. The big kid on the block, BuyCostumes.com has been joined by many, many others. Retailers like CostumeCraze.com, FrightCatalog.com, SpookShop.com, and SpiritHalloween.com have either built new or revamped old sites as well as launch affiliate marketing programs to compete head-on.
As a website publisher and developer, I look forward to Halloween now more than the Christmas season, and with the new launch of Costumzee.com, it’s more exciting than ever.
