One down, lots more big movies to go! Take the poll
The highly-anticipated Watchmen movie pulled in $25.1 million on its first day at the box office. By the end of the weekend, Watchmen had grossed a whopping $55.7 million! Who watches the Watchmen? Apparently, a lot of people with the film coming in at #1 at the box office, soundly beating its #2 competitor, Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail which only grossed $8.8 million.
Now that Watchmen has proven itself at the box office, a slew of other big-name contenders will be grappling for the #1 spot in months ahead. Tons of blockbuster franchises and some new ones are ready to make their way into theatres soon. For the remainder of spring, here’s what fans can look forward to:
Apr 8 – Dragonball Evolution
May 1 – X-Men Origins: Wolverine
May 8 – Star Trek
May 21 – Terminator Salvation
Which one of these films — and costumes — are you most excited to see? So far, new costumes for Terminator are already out with the creepy T600 model, the precursor to the Terminator we all know and love, much more machine than man. The new JJ Abrams version of Star Trek, particularly of the film’s newest villain, the space pirate Nero.
