Sad news for all the Harry Potter fans out there. The new Harry Potter movie “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” which was ready for theaters Nov. 21. has suddenly been delayed by the studio for an opening next year on July 17th. What are the reasons behind these? Well several. You can blame it on the Hollywood writers’ strike last Winter, but there is actually more to this decision.

It seems apparent that movies that come out during the Summer break sales records (last summer’s “Order of the Phoenix” is the second-highest grossing Potter film) as Batman The Dark Knight has proven this year.

There will be a lot of competition in november, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and Bolt will come out, so why sharing ticket sales when next July should have a lot less competition. Plus, the month of July is a great month, children are on vacations, they can Harry Potter parties or just spend a day at the movies to kill Summer time

But, it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t dress up as Harry Potter characters if you had already planned doing so! For sure, Harry Potter costumes and accessories will be plenty available in stores since the movie isn’t coming out and attention towards it will be low, so it could be a great time to buy exactly what you need/want and probably get a great deal on it!
