As we all know, Twilight and its sequels have been on the top of the list for Halloween costumes since its first release in theaters. It can be assumed that this Halloween will be no different with Vampire costumes lighting the stage. Whether you want to be a vampire with an Edward costume or a Dracula costume one thing is for certain. You will want to look at the costume accessories like colored contacts to add to the look. You no longer have to add a bit of makeup and hope your eyes will make the cut. You can also enhance your look with Halloween colored contact lenses.
You do not even have to dress up as a vampire. You could choose a cat costume, manson costume, or pirate costume and still use these added accessories. Plenty of stores sell non prescription lenses, and online stores may even have prescription colored contacts to help vamp up your costume look for the next Halloween. This year it is about more than the costume and make up its about totally becoming the character even if its a cosplay costume choice!

Powerful Guns, dismemberment, and a total guy flick characterize The Expendables. The film was released August 13, 2010 with the screen play and direction by Sylvester Stallone. What made the movie worth seeing wasn’t necessarily the plot- it was the actors cast in it. There are some actors who have made their living as action heroes through the last thirty years. Sylvester Stallone is one of those men who was well known for Rambo and Rocky. Then you add in Bruce Willis who is both comedian and action hero with his most notable roles in the Die Hard series. You add in Dolph Lundgren from Masters of the Universe and you have quite a cast building. A cameo by Arnold Schwarzenegger helps launch the film.
These older generation action heroes were joined by Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, Eric Roberts, and Mickey Rourke. Mickey Rourke is another that has been around for three decades with films like Body Heat and Year of the Dragon. Eric Roberts has just as many movies perhaps more to his credit starting from 1974. These faces we recognize along with Jet Li and Jason Statham. Statham first caught our attention in the Transporter movies, as well as the Italian Job. Jet Li had many Asian titles to his credit before appearing in the Black Mask and catching America’s attention. Black Mask was dubbed and created with English subtitles, but it was his break. After that we saw him in Lethal Weapon 4, Romeo Must Die, Kiss the Dragon, The One, and many other martial arts action films.

Pirates have captured our attention for several years. Many of us have an impression of gallant fellows robbing and hiding treasure. In fact many of the movies made about pirates tend to put a romantic spin on their tales. In truth, pirates are vicious killers, especially the pirates of today who kidnap and kill just to get goods from ships. It is not always about hidden treasure and love affairs. Still, many of us prefer to live in films and books when we think about pirates. One of the most real pirates we constantly see in films is Blackbeard.
Blackbeard was born Edward Teach in 1680, dying November 22, 1718. Not much is really known about his early life other than he was thought to be born in Britol, England making his home in Ocracoke, North Carolina. He was only active as a pirate for 2 years, yet his name has been in the top listing of pirates. Blackbeard was the captain of Queen Anne’s Revenge, with his base of operations in the Atlantic traveling from the West Indies to the eastern American Colonies.

There were mixed reviews when it came to the movie Salt. The commercials made it seem like it could be a great movie, but was it going to be just another action film? Would there be anything to get out of it for costumes or even enjoyment? After having reviewed the film yesterday, I’ve come to the conclusion it wasn’t just another action film.
The question the film industry kept advertising “Who is Salt,” was definitely answered in the manner one figured it would be. The plot for its entirety was definitely easy to figure out, even down to who the mole was in the CIA. What kept it interesting were a few interesting lines, how Salt got to the target in the church, and of course the actors themselves.

Comic Con San Diego was the first ever comic book convention. Each year Comic Con is held in San Diego to start off a National Tour of the convention. Denver, Portland, New York and other major cities will have their variation of Comic Con, but it is the one in San Diego that reveals the most and always first. Comic Con was first held in 1970 with mostly comic books on display, along with some souvenirs.
Today, after 40 years of being held Comic Con has reached new heights. A few weeks ago, starting July 22, the 40th Comic Con was kicked off. It lasted until July 25th. With so much information to cull through it was hard to decide what to talk about for upcoming costume ideas. Furthermore the convention provided fodder for this year’s Halloween based on what some of the attendees dressed as.

“Jersey Shore” is back for a second season! The MTV reality series was a huge hit with viewers … Even if the Jersey Shore itself wasn’t too thrilled with the attention brought to the tourist spot. So, for Season 2, the eight cast members took the show on the road to Miami, FL and will head back later to New Jersey. Whether or not they’ll be back in Seaside Heights is still up in the air.
Season 1 of “Jersey Shore” gave way to a certain mania with all things guido or guidette. Jersey Shore parties popped up all over the place. Not just viewing parties to kick back and watch the show with a bunch of fist-pumping friends, but actual “Jersey Shore” costume parties at homes, bars, and clubs all over the place in which those in attendence would put together their best guido or guidette look. Thousands of cans of hairspray were drained and a fountain of bronzer were dried up in the process!

In spite of all the hype surrounding DC Comics’ most recent comic book franchise to make the jump to the big screen, Jonah Hex was a box office bomb. The film came in at #8 this weekend, which is pretty bad considering how heavily promoted the film was. It came in behind movies that had already been hanging around movie theatres for quite some time. Coming in at #1, however, was “Toy Story 3,” which received a warm welcome back from theatre goers.
So, was “Jonah Hex” really as bad as critics said it was? YES!!! I really wanted to like this movie. Really. I did. I’m an admitted comic book nerd and loved the idea that DC was making a film based on one of the more obscure, cult titles in their arsenal. However, my inner comic book nerd was sorely disappointed when I saw the steaming pile of suck that ended up passing as the “Jonah Hex” film.

Cineplexes this summer are packed to the gills with all manner of heroes and supernatural villains. You’ve got the supernatural-tinged Jonah Hex crossing over into cowboy territory. George Romero has a new zombie flick coming out. Of course, there are the requisite superheroes that are a staple of any summer blockbuster movie schedule. Hell, you’ve even got some other sort of freaky human/lizard hybrid creature clawing her way through the big screen with “Splice.”
However, the old standbys are still holding their ground. Vampires and werewolves are duking it out to see who will come out on top. Not only are vampires and werewolves battling with each other in “Twilight: Eclipse”, but the good folks of Bon Temps, Louisiana are going to have their share of both in the swamplands, too. The season premiere of HBO’s “True Blood” aired on Sunday night and already, the out-of-the-closet vampires are finding themselves confronted by werewolves. They’ve already got some shapeshifters on their hands with Sam Merlotte, but this time around, it’s some straight-up hungry werewolves.
