The A- Team Lands in a Movie with 80’s Costumes Rehashed

If you grew up during the 80’s or had children that did you probably recognize the A- Team moniker. Starting in 1983 the television show the A- Team made waves until 1987. The creators of the show were Stephen J. Cannell and Frank Lupo. Their tagline was “Heroes for Hire,”¬ù which enticed many kids to watch the shows. Children will always look for a hero, and these crime fighters certainly made it easy. The plot was based on four Vietnam Vets who are suddenly framed for a crime they were not part of. As they are on the run from the military the A Team helps innocent individuals with crimes.

The original cast was George Peppard as John Hannibal Smith, Dwight Schultz as Howling Mad Murdock, Mr. T as BA Baracus, and Dirk Benedict as Templeton Faceman Peck. 97 episodes were created in total for these unlikely heroes. Now the A Team is getting a face lift.

The four team members will be back, but instead of the original cast Bradley Cooper, Liam Neeson, Sharlto Copley, and Quinton Jackson will be playing the characters. However, we do not have to lament the loss of most of the original cast since Dirk Benedict and Dwight Schultz will have appearances in the film. It is unknown if Mr. T will lend a cameo are not. Although, there have been commercials and face time for Mr. T in recent months.

The plot has also gotten an update to make it more modern. In the 80’s we were still reeling from the Vietnam War, so it made sense to have Vietnam Vets as part of the plot. Today we have a more recent war. All that has been revealed of the plot is that a group of Iraq War vets are looking to clear their US military records, when they are suspected of committing a crime. The cast members will be joined by Jessica Biel as Lt. Sosa for a female component to the film.

The A- Team is set to release on June 11, 2010. Images have already been released from the film to show us the updated costumes one can expect. Gone are the Mr. T costumes with heavy gold chains and in place for the moment are update to date military costumes.
