About Zoo Keeper
A zoo keeper is a person who works with animals at a zoo. There are other animal workers such as those at an aquarium or other public animal house. The name zoo keeper came about from the zoos. These individuals work with animal training, feeding and daily care of the animals. Most zoo keepers will have a specific area of expertise. For example zoo keepers may work with the lions or they may be in the aviary. Zoo keepers must spend at least 4 years in a university earning a biology degree, and then another two to four learning specific animal training and care information. Most Zoo Keepers have doctorates in their fields. In some of the smaller zoos there might not be as much qualifications needed. It will also depend on experience. Dressing up as Zoo Keeper
Despite the Hollywood Zoo Keeper costume many zoo keepers dress in regular clothing such as khaki shorts and a tee shirt with the zoo logo.
