About Wizard of Oz

In 1900, author Frank L. Baum published the book "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," the tale of a young girl from Kansas named Dorothy Gale who comes to visit a spectacular land filled with little people called Munchkins and both Wicked Witches and Good Witches, too! In spite of the friendships she makes with the Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion, and Tin Man, Dorothy wants nothing more than to go home to her Auntie Em and Uncle Henry. The book went on to inspire one of the most beloved classic films of all time, 1939's Wizard of Oz starring a young Judy Garland as Dorothy skipping down the famous Yellow Brick Road.

Dressing up as Wizard of Oz

Follow the Yellow Brick Road to find some Wonderful Wizard of Oz costumes. Perfect for a movie-themed party, a general costume party, or for a school play, there are a number of costumes to help you get into character. Dress up as Dorothy with a pair of Ruby Slippers with either a high heel or flats and an adorable Toto in a basket in addition to the usual gingham and pigtails worn by the heroine!

You can also dress up a some of the other characters in the film such as the Tin Man with a latex Tin Man mask or a Scarecrow mask and costume. Ladies' costumes in these looks with a Cowardly Lion dress or a Tin Woman costume for an unexpected twist!

If you're feeling slightly "wicked," try dressing up as the Wicked Witch and getting a few pals to accompany you dressed in the Flying Monkey costume!
