About Wine
Wine is made from fermented grapes, or sometimes rice (in the case of Japanese sake). Grapes are crushed and blended with yeast which helps the process. The mixture is then aged and produces a wine. Wines come in a variety of colors and flavors. Red wine is produced from red or purple grapes, while white wines are produced from white or green grapes. It can come in bottles sealed with cork or a screwtop or in boxes. (Boxed wine is the least expensive variety.) Wine is highly prized by collectors, with some vintages going for up to thousands of dollars per bottle. Other types of wine, such as MD 20/20 (affectionately known as Mad Dog), Wild Irish Rose, and others are inexpensive, sometimes costing as low as $3 a bottle.
Dressing up as wine
Look fine as a bottle of wine with wine-themed costumes based on this sipping favorite. Honor the god of wine of ancient Greece with a Dionysus costume with a white tunic toga and burgandy drape. Or, dress as a bottle of champagne to get the party bubbling! If you prefer, kick it old school -- as in pre-fermentation -- and dress up as a bunch of {grapes). If you're on a budget, go for the Pinot Grande Wine Box costume for a budget blockbuster. Just steer clear of college parties while wearing it or else you might find yourself on tap!
