About Wild West

The Wild West is the name for the American Old West which existed when Europeans were first colonizing North America. Alaska is called the “Last Frontier” because it is largely un- inhabited land. Its forests, land, and even outskirts are unpopulated compared to the rest of the US. The Wild West used to be anything from the Midwest region of the US on. In other words the western states of America were considered the Wild West. Some of us consider Colorado, Wyoming, Texas, and the Dakotas to be the Wild West. Wyoming was the home of Buffalo Bill Cody. This man was very much the epitome of the Wild West, especially with his Wild West show.

Dressing up as Wild West

To dress up for the Wild West you have two choices. You can be a Native American or a Cowboy. For Native Americans you would need a faux leather outfit. For females a skirt, for males pants would be needed. Then for the upper part of the costume a nice tunic in tan with beading and painted symbols would work. Don’t forget your Indian Headdress. For a cowboy- blue jeans, button down shirt, cowboy hat, lasso, horse, cowboy boots, and a couple of guns would set you right up.
