A wench is a person who is a server most typically in the earlier centuries. She was also considered a person of promiscuous means. In other words she did more than serve drinks or tend bar. A wench is typically of the 1600’s to the 1800’s, though the name can still apply today.

Dressing up as Wench

Since a wench is a peasant the costume needed must fit that era in time. Typically a wench costume has a peasant blouse with a corset around it. Then the skirt is tight on the hips moving down to the ankles in a straight line or A line design. Black boots and perhaps a shawl will finish the costume.
