A tree is a plant that is both perennial and woody. Trees grow up towards the sky with many secondary branches. These branches will have foliage such as needles, leaves, and even some trees grow fruit. For example trees can grow apples. These trees will vary in species because you have both red and green types of apples. Trees will vary in size and diameter depending on how old they are and the species. Tree species include blue spruce, oak, cherry wood, fir, redwood, pine, and hemlock. Some trees will grow to be very slim, yet tall, while others grow very large around at the base before growing extremely tall. Rainforests typically have tall trees because of the water that helps them grow. Trees are most important during the Christmas season as we tend to get a live tree each year to celebrate the holiday. Many decorate the trees with lights, garland, and ornaments. It is the Christmas trees that make the best costumes.
