Theodore Roosevelt was the 26th President of the United States from 1901 to 1909, taking over the position from the assassinated William McKinley. Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt was the youngest person ever to hold the Presidential office at the age of 42. An avid historian, explorer, hunter, author and general renaissance man, Teddy was also the cousin of fellow president, Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR). It was Teddy who walked his orphaned niece Eleanor down the aisle as he gave her away in marriage to FDR. Additionally, thanks to his hunting exploits, the Teddy Bear gets its name from this man of action!
