About Teletubbies

An award-winning television series that started on BBC's Britain, the Teletubbies made their debut across the pond on PBS in 1997. The show ran in its original run for four years, wrapping up in 2001 and showcased four, adorable, chubby characters in their fantastical world. Pretty much like big kids, the four Teletubbies each had their own distinctive color and personality. The largest (and most controversial) of the Teletubbies is the purple Tinky Winky, a male Teletubby who carries a magic purse. His best friend, Laa Laa is the happy-go-lucky, caring yellow Teletubby. She's often seen playing with a giant orange ball. Dipsy, the other male Teletubby is green, somewhat stubborn and loves to wear a top hat. Last but not least is Po, the littlest and red Teletubby who gets into all sorts of innocent trouble. Together, the Teletubbies play and speak their own sort of gurgling language.

Dressing up as a Teletubby

Available in sizes to fit adults, kids, and even babies are a range of officially licensed Teletubby costumes! Each costume comes with a brightly colored, soft and padded one-piece jumpsuit made of polyester with a "screen" panel on the tummy, similar to those of the Teletubbies who show images on these screens. Attached to the costume is a padded character hood with attached ears and a hole in the center for your own face to show. Depending on the character, each one comes either purple, green, red, or yellow with a each Teletubby's uniquely shaped antennae.
