About Strawberry Shortcake

Strawberry Shortcake and her friends took the world by storm in the 1980's when they began singing, dancing, and just plain having fun throughout the fictional setting of Strawberryland. Strawberry Shortcake, along with her friends Lemon Meringue, Blueberry Muffin, and dozens of others, battled their nemesis The Peculiar Purple Pie Man in TV, movies, on record albums, and more. Each friend and villain of Strawberry had their own pet (Strawberry herself had Custard the Cat) and even came with desert- scented hair when the doll line was first introduced. Strawberry Shortcake is still popular with children today, even though she began in 1980, nearly thirty years ago.
