The Imperial Stormtroopers are characters from the Star Wars films. They act as guards of the Galactic Empire within the Imperial Navy, Imperial Army and throughout the Star Wars galaxies to make sure all stay faithful to the Emperor. They were to have originated from the Clone Troopers created in the image of Jango Fett, father to the bounty hunter Boba Fett and a bodyguard to Count Dooku, to fight in the Clone Wars that take place in Episode 1: The Phantom Menace of the films. Between the Clone Wars and the Battle of Endor at the end of the films, the Imperial Stormtroopers developed from various other clones as well as conscripted servicemen. As Imperial loyalists and defenders of the Emperor, the Stormtroopers are in constant conflict with the Jedi, such as Luke Skywalker and Yoda, as well as the rest of the Rebel Alliance, such as Princess Leia and Han Solo.
