About Stewardesses

Although the prefer to be called by the more gender-neutral term, "Flight Attendants," Stewardesses are the (mostly) female staff members who help to make airplane passengers more comfortable. Their duties include instructing passengers as to what to do in the event of an emergency, as well as bringing pillows, meals, and other creature comforts to passengers to make their flight more pleasant. While the pilot is in the cockpit, he can't neccessarily control what goes on in the cabin. It is the job of the stewardesses/flight attendants to keep the passengers in order and make even the shortest of flights run as smoothly as possible.
