About Star Wars
In 1977, George Lucas officially became a god to geeks and sci-fi fans everywhere with the release of Star Wars: A New Hope. The first of what would be two trilogies, the original Star Wars series chronicled the lengthy saga of the Skywalker family, particularly that of Anakin Skywalker, the Jedi knight who underwent a tragic downfall and became the dark Sith lord, Darth Vader. The theme of heroism, loyalty, friendship, and the redemption that comes with them is a big part of the Star Wars universe as are other major characters like Chewbacca the Wookie, the diminuitive (and green!) Jedi master Yoda, Anakin's twin children, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia and the unconventional pilot of the Millennium Falcon, Han Solo.
Dressing up as Star Wars
Choose your path, young Jedi. Embrace the Force or the Dark Side with officially licensed Star Wars costumes. Whether you're swinging your lightsaber stag, or going as a couple, there's a costume to suit you. Sexy Slave Girl Leia or Princess Leia in her more modest white gown can team up with either Han Solo or Luke Skywalker for a fun couples' costume look. Or, if you're going with a friend, think about going as the great duo of Han and his Wookie pal and co-pilot, Chewbacca.
Make an entrance (we recommend providing your own iconic theme music, however) as Darth Vader in an imposing black costume with a Vader helmet and mask to hide your true identity as Anakin Skywalker.
Or, kick it new school with some costumes from the newer Trilogy, as either young Obi Wan Kenobi or Anakin Skywalker. When in doubt, trust your instincts, Padawan, and let the Force guide you to a Yoda costume, which would be sure to be a big hit!
