About St Patrick's Day
St Patrick's Day is celebrated every March 17th in honor of one of the patron saints of Ireland who drove out the snakes and introduced Christianity to the land. Additionally, the calendar day is celebrated by Irish-Americans with large amounts of beer (green or otherwise) and a traditional meal of ham and cabbage. Several major cities with large populations of those of Irish descent also celebrate a weekend beforehand with a {St Patty's Day} Parade such as New York City and Philadelphia. Additionally, many cities provide "pub crawl tours" complete with buses to take St Patrick's Day revellers from bar to bar in their neighborhoods!
Dressing up for St Patrick's Day
Get your green on with some St Patrick's Day items and costumes to get you in the mood to guzzle some Guinness this March 17th! Dress up with a green light up boa and green glitter glasses for a glam look. Shamrock glasses and a variety of hats including a green cowboy hat or an oversized leprechaun hat are a great way to get into the festivities without going overboard!
Take it to the next level with a Leprechaun or Sexy Leprechaun costume with a pair of green fishnets.
