About Spanish Senorita

When translating Spanish into English Senorita means Miss. Miss is an unmarried woman, typically one that has never been married. The form Senorita is often applied to a teacher. Instead of using a married form it keeps things more neutral. You do not have to be of Spanish decent to be called Senorita. Anyone speaking Spanish may call a female Senorita as a form of address. Of course if you are a Spanish Senorita then you are typically going to be from Spain or Latin America.

Dressing up as Spanish Senorita

One of the most popular Spanish Senorita costumes is one that can be used for the Tango. You would have a black panne velvet gown with a layer of red satin and black lace ruffles. Most costumes also include sequins on the dress or headpiece. Fishnet stockings would also help add to the costume. Don’t forget a bandido or matador costume for the men. Also to complete the costume a nice set of high heels will do, and a flower in your hair. You do not have to dress so formally as a Spanish Senorita if you do not wish. Another costume idea would be Lady Zorro. For this outfit you would need a black dress or black pants with a black peasant blouse. A cap tied at the neck, a sombrero for effect, and high heeled boots with a sword at the hip works quite well.
