About Sorceress

A sorceress is a female magician or witch. Typically the connotation of the word sorceress is applied to someone who can do black magic. Not all sorceresses are into evil magic, but most in Hollywood movies are depicted as evil. For example in the movie Willow, the good guys had to battle the evil sorceress. Other references to sorceresses include Venefica Sorceress who was a woman woman that used drugs, potions, and poison against her enemies. In the game Spyro there is a sorceress who is good. She can sometimes help the animated dragon Spyro. In DC Comics the Silver Sorceress was a character from the Justice League. She was the only survivor of a nuclear holocaust on an alternate Earth. Cassandra from mythology is often called a sorceress due to her abilities as a sear.

Dressing up as Sorceress

A sorceress costume will include a dress, bell sleeves, and a high collar. Most sorceress costumes have a two toned dress to help it appear more mysterious. The dress can be blue or black. You can even go for a red dress as a sorceress. The dress should be close to a 19th century or earlier look. Consider looking at a maleficent costume for ideas. To go with the dress you will want a scepter, high heel boots, and very long nails. The nails should be the same color as your dress.
