About SNL

"Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!" Saturday Night Live (also known as SNL) is a weekly comedy sketch show on NBC airing at 11:30PM. The show began in 1975 and was created by Lorne Michaels. SNL's ensemble cast was dubbed the "Not Ready for Prime Time Players" and the original cast included Dan Akroyd, John Belushi, and Bill Murray among others. The show launched the careers of several well-known comedians today such as Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell and Tina Fey (who was head writer for the show for a number of years). In addition to the ensemble cast of regulars, SNL features a celebrity guest host each week along with a musical guest.

Dressing up as SNL

Costume yourself as one of your favorite characters from SNL. Make it a couple's costume with a Spartan cheerleader costume based on Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri's awkward teen spirit squad. Dress as another awkward teen with Molly Shannon's theatre-loving Catholic school girl, Mary Katherine Gallagher with an officially licensed costume that features a "SNL" school crest on the uniform's sweatervest.

You can also dress as a Samurai and catch John Belushi's Samurai Night Fever or as a shark, passing as a very convincing door-to-door landshark!
