About Snape

Snape or Professor Snape is a fictional teacher from J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. Snape is first introduced in Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. Snape takes an immediate dislike to Harry, but the reasons why are not known. We do find out at the end of the first book that Snape was rescued by James Potter, Harry’s father. In subsequent books we know Snape was often picked on in school by James Potter and his friends. Snape takes his anger out on Harry, but there is still some good in the man. Snape is an ex- Death Eater, turned spy for the Order of the Phoenix and Albus Dumbledore. Snape has always wanted the Defense against the Dark Arts position at Hogwarts, but is never given the job. Instead he is head of potions and Slytherin House.

Dressing up as Snape

The costume for Snape will be a black cassock, with wand, Slytherin scarf, and black hair. The cassock is a robe with long sleeves and a collar, hiding most of the body beneath. The costume is quite simple and there will be something for all ages and budgets. Other costume ideas in the same vein would be Death Eaters, Wizards, Lord Voldemort, Harry Potter, and Ron Weasley.
