About Skunk

A skunk is a mammal. They are known for their smell, which is actually their defense system. When a skunk feels threatened they will raise their tail and shot a spray. This spray carries with it an odor that deters predators from harming the skunk. When a human is sprayed the smell can last for quite a while and make them unfavorable in company. There are eleven different species of Skunk in the world. There are hooded, spotted, stripped, and other skunks. Skunks are also related to Badgers, Otters, and Weasels. Skunks can be black with a white stripe on their back, head, and tail. Sometimes the stripe is broken like on the spotted skunk. Skunks eat plants and animals like humans making them omnivors.

Dressing up as Skunk

If you want to be a skunk for your next costume party, you might be the least favored guest! Okay we’re kidding on that part, and there are definitely plenty of skunk costumes you can choose from. For example Fifi la Fume is a female skunk with purple and white hair. You could also just be a regular skunk with black fur and a white stripe. Pepe Le Pew makes a great costume idea or counterpart to a female skunk. Most skunk costumes have a hood or headband to form the face and ears of the skunk. There will also be a tail.
