About Shepherds

Hey, the sheep can't guard themselves from their numerous predators! That's where shepherds come in. The job of a shepherd is to guard the flock and ensure that no harm comes to the sheep. In case one strays, it's their job to herd them back to their pen with their wooly bretheren.

In the Bible, shepherds play a prominent role, having played a role in the story of the Nativity, basically, giving directions to the Magi following the star of Bethlehem to find Jesus' birthplace. Ironically, Jesus later becomes known as a "shepherd" of the faithful, keeping the flock together, protecting them, and bringing strays back to the fold.
