Harry Potter's most loathed professor at Hogwart's School is Severus Snape. The potions teacher and head of the sly Slytherin house, Snape is often referred to as a greasy git by Potter and his pals. Severus Snape is also one of the most complex characters in J.K. Rowling's series of novels, having a historic rivalry with Harry's father and an unrequited love for Harry's mother. Additionally, Snape is a double-agent for both Dumbledore and Voldemort, having been a Death Eater. Snape plays a large part in the sixth book (and movie) of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
