Sea creatures are also called sea monsters. These creatures dwell in the sea as mythical beasts or legendary monsters. They are said to be overly large beasts. Sea Creatures are usually based on sea dragons, sea serpents, or giant squid. The myths surrounding these monsters began when ship’s personnel would report large creatures being sited. Most often they were just large whales or the squid. Squid are often used in movies and books as giant monsters that down ships. Their tentacles wrap around boats sucking them down to the bottom, in these stories. Illustrations of these monsters can be found online. Most of the legends are born in the Pacific, Indian and Southern Oceans. In 1968 there was a reported sea creature corpse, which it was supposed was actually a giant octopus. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is one popular book about the oceans and sea creatures.

Dressing up as Sea Creature

Swamp Thing is one sea creature that was popular in the 80’s. You also have the deep sea creature. This type of costume is latex with a green body and long sleeves. The costume has fake fins, and gills. To go along with the body a deep sea creature mask is needed. This mask is also green with sharp teeth, red ringed eye holes, and fins. To round out the costume one needs the webbed sea creature gloves. These gloves have webbing between the fingers, with sharp scale like nails.
