About Scrooge

Ebeneezer Scrooge, the main character in Charles Dickens' holiday classic, "A Christmas Story" was a wretched old miser who despised Christmas and all it stood for due to incidents from his past. On Christmas Eve, Scrooge was visited by several ghosts, including his old business partner, Jacob Marley, as well as the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present, and Yet To Come. These ghosts changed his mind and heart in relation to Christmas and the business of mankind, transforming Scrooge from the ultimate Grinch to Christmas' biggest fan.

Dressing up as Scrooge

For a Christmas pageant, parade, or holiday presentation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol", all eyes will be on you as Ebeneezer Scrooge. Find yourself hunched over with a walking cane and a grey wig with a Scrooge costume in the typical Victorian style of a miserly gentleman of his day. Accessorize with a top hat and several flannel scarves.

Or, dress as Scrooge in his night shirt, an ensemble he sports through much of the story as he's visited by a host of holiday ghosts. The shirt itself is ankle length and all white with a matching stocking cap. Wear your own pair of bedroom slippers for maximum comfort on an uncomfortable journey!
