About Scooby Doo

Scooby Doo is perhaps the longest running cartoon animation series next to Mickey Mouse cartoons. Scooby Doo began in 1969 with the Scooby Doo Where are You series. Since then the show has been on practically every network from ABC to the CW. Scooby Doo is the talking dog who helps solve the mysteries in the show. Like Shaggy his best friend they are both rather timid when it comes to the scary stuff. Scooby is always accompanied by Freddie Jones, Daphne Black, and Velma Dinkley. Velma is the bookworm of the five characters always able to figure things out from the current mystery they find themselves in. Their company is called ‘Mystery Inc’ in which they drive around in this seventies van. Since the shows beginnings there have been several animated movies length features as well as two regular movies with Freddie Prince Jr. and Sarah Michele Gellar as two of the stars.

Dressing Up as Scooby Doo

Scooby Doo is just one of the many characters you can choose from the cartoon series, but he is where we will start. First to be Scooby Doo you must be in a dog costume. You can choose to create the costume or find it online. There is a price range as well as size range for everyone. The Scooby Doo costume will be of tan material with black spots. It will also have a long tail complete with head. You can have the full costume which will enclose your entire face or the half head in which your face is the Scooby Doo face only topped with the ears. Next in dressing as Scooby Doo you have Fred. Fred is always dressed in bell bottom jeans, white tee shirt, and an orange scarf. To complete Fred you would need a yellow wig. Velma is more bookish than the others with the seventies glasses, bowl hair cut and orange turtle neck long sleeve shirt. To complete Velma you would need an above the knee red skirt, orange knee high socks and red flat dress shoes.
Daphne is the fashion model of the group. Her red orange hair is a little over should length and always perfect. The Daphne costume is a short flapper style dress that is sleeveless. The costumer is completed with a long pale scarf, purple tights if you would like, and high heel shoes or boots. Shaggy gets his name from the shaggy mop of blonde hair and peach fuzz on this chin. He is always dressed in a green shirt with brown corduroy pants.
