In the days of the Wild, Wild West, saloons were a particular type of bar that served cowboys, fur trappers, prospectors, and gamblers. This sort of alcohol-serving establishment was a melting pot that brought all types on the Frontier together under one roof. In addition to hosting gambling games and serving alcohol, saloon girls also sang, danced, and entertained patrons(in more ways than one, in some seedier establishments). Many saloons were open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and were distinguished by chest-level "batwing" doors that swung both inward and outward welcoming patrons, and letting them stumble out easily onto the tumbleweed-littered streets. Adding an air of respectability to these places, lawman Wyatt Earp was also a saloon owner and barkeep during this period of time.

Dressing up as a Saloon

Ladies can deck themselves out with feathered headdresses and silken finery to become a sassy saloon girl out of the past. Available in ladies' plus and standard sizes, these saloon girl costumes come in a variety of colors and fabrics. Each saloon girl costume contains a feathered and/or sequinned headdress and a one-piece dress with bustier styling and boning and either a calf-length or knee- length skirt with attached petticoat or fringed trim in a variety of colors. Add a pair of fishnet stockings and a garter belt to add some extra "sass" to that "sasparilla"!

Gents can dress up as a barkeep with a plain or striped dress shirt, red bowtie, and matching garters on their sleeves along with an apron. Carry a handtowel to clean glasses and put on an upturned handlebar mustache for an authentic, Western feel.
