About Safari

A safari is actually an event that you take. It is a vacation where you travel around Africa or other countries in a jeep or other vehicle, camping on the open land, watching for wildlife, and generally exploring. Safaris are usually meant for individuals to see lions, elephants, and other African or Asian creatures. Scientists go on safaris to learn about the land they study. In the past Safaris were also used as hunting expeditions.

Dressing up as Safari

To dress for a safari you would want light weight clothing. Costumes are patterned after the early 30’s outfits most wore to go on hunting or explorer trips. Khaki pants or shorts, with a khaki top. The top would be buttoned down the front with pockets. A nylon belt would also be necessary. A pith helmet would also be needed. Combat or hiking boots help to make up the costume. Cameras, camping gear, or other accessories will add to the costume, even a little lion costume would make it a good costume. For a sexy safari outfit you might want a short skirt.
