About Rustic Pirate

“Aye!” is one of the more common phrases we hear a pirate say. If you are a rustic pirate than you are getting away with wearing almost anything related to old world piracy. Piracy in the traditional sense is men who were privateers rather than legitimate business men. They would sail out on to the sea and bring robbery and criminal violence to any ship that would pass. They were most especially busy in the Caribbean and raiding the East India Dutch Trading Co. They were steal anything including gold, jewels, and silver found on the ships. Pirates have ancient origins dating back to 13th Century BC in the Aegean and Mediterranean Sea. The Illyrians and Tyrrhenians were known as pirates, as well as the Greeks and Romans. Overtime the Pirates came to be those we see depicted in Hollywood like Jack Sparrow. A most famous pirate was Edward Teach known better as Blackbeard.

Dressing up as Rustic Pirate

Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean is probably going to give us the best idea of what a rustic pirate will wear. Poor Jack was left on an island where his gun rusted and his clothing became degraded. For his costume you would need black pants, a peasant shirt, an overcoat with missing buttons, a rusty fake gun, rusty fake sword, and the tricorn hat. You also need the beard and dreadlocks wig. Do not forget about the pirate boots. You also have the Rustic Ladies Pirate outfit with corset that has gold trim, a peasant blouse with a ruffled neck and cuffs. To add to the Rustic Lady you should have tight black pants, a silky bandana, tricorn hat, leather boots with boot tops that have gold trim. Do not forget her jewelry or her weapons. Consider also Lady Elizabeth Swan as your partner for Jack Sparrow.
