He starred in films such as "Bedtime for Bonzo," starring alongside a chimpanzee, Reagan left acting for politics. He became Governor of California and later the 40th President of the United States in 1981. Born on February 6, 1911, Ronald Reagan was also the oldest President to hold office at the age of 70 when he took office. His congenial, almost fatherly manner made well-liked as a President and he played an important role on the world stage, an instrumental figure in getting the Berlin Wall to crumble and to improve relations with the then-Communist U.S.S.R., ending the Cold War.
