About Roman
A roman is a person who was born in Rome or as part of the Roman Empire. The Roman Empire reigned from 27 BC to 1453 AD. The Romans had several empires including the Holy Roman Empire. They were also the first republic to be created. Roman typically refers to the time of the Caesars. In fact many of the costumes will be based on this time period. A roman soldier is just one type of roman. They protected the ruler and fought wars in order to expand the empire. Romans were considered wealthy individuals. Anyone who was not wealthy was generally a slave and from other lands.
Dressing up as Roman
The typical Roman costume is the Roman Soldier. To dress as a roman you will need a red tunic, with leather armour to go over it. The costume will include sandals and roman leg guards. There are also some rubber armour suits you can purchase to complete the look. You will need a roman soldier helmet with a brush. The brush will be red with gold or silver fabric. You might also want a fake sword and shield for the Roman costume
