About Rockettes

The world famous Radio City Rockettes have been performing to sold-out crowds at Radio City Music Hall at Rockefeller Center in New York City for over 75 years. Known for their crisp eye-level high kicks and precision movements, the dance squad is comprised of more than 10 girls dressed uniformly and with no girl kicking higher than the other. Their timing is impeccable and the requirements to be a Rockette are stringent. They must adhere to a certain weight, physical build, and be between the height of 5'6" and 5'10". During the Christmas season at Radio City Music Hall, the Rockettes perform up to five times daily. They have been a performance fixture of the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade since 1957.

Dressing up as a Rockette

Although the Rockettes have to be a certain height, anyone can be a Rockette with officially licensed costumes based on the dance troupe's actual costumes. Available in sizes to fit adult women, teens, and little girls, the Rockette Christmas costume is a reproduction of the modified sexy Santa suits the high-kicking gals wear, with a red tunic-style dress trimmed in white faux fur on the neckline, cuffs and hem with a matching red bodice to cinch the waist. A headpiece, white gloves, and a pair of red dance shorts are also included. Wear with a pair of fleshtoned tights and high heeled character shoes for a classic look!
