About Ricky Ricardo

Ricky Ricardo was the Cuban bandleader husband to zany redhead Lucy McGillicudy-Ricardo on 1950s television comedy, I Love Lucy. Ricky was a Cuban immigrant who came to the United States as a bandleader, singer, and performer who frequently worked at the Tropicana club. A long-suffering husband, Ricky put up with Lucy's constant attempts to become famous, often trying to get him to put her in one of his shows. Ricky occassionally pals around with his landlord, the catankerous Fred Mertz who was husband to Lucy's best friend, Ethyl.
