Richard Millhouse Nixon was born to a Quaker family on January 9, 1913. He became the 37th President of the United States and was the first and only President to resign during office. He was elected for two terms, his first in 1969 and resigned from office in 1975 due to the Watergate wiretapping scandal that earned him the moniker, "Tricky Dick." For all his flaws, Nixon accomplished a lot of good in his Presidency, including a historic visit to Communist China which improved relations between the U.S. and the other world power, he also enacted price freezes during a period of economic turmoil to stop inflation from getting out of control.
