About Reaper

Don't fear "the Reaper"! It's more than just a cowbell-laden song by '70s rock group, Blue Oyster Cult, the Reaper refers to the Grim Reaper, the personification of death who wears a long, black cloak over his skeletal face and carries a large scythe to "reap" the souls of mortals and carry them to the Other Side. "Reaper" is also another name for the occupation of many of the characters on the now-cancelled Showtime show, "Dead Like Me," as well as that of the characters on the CW network show "Reaper." In either case, these Reapers are much more human, and handle their rather heavy tasks with reasonably good cheer and aren't quite as intimidating as the traditionally "Grim" Reaper.

Dressing up as the Reaper

Available in a range of spooky styles to fit men, women, and children, the Reaper costume is a classic that doesn't go out of style. Some reaper costumes feature stately, black hooded robes that drape loosely with long, flowing sleeves while others offer tattered styling for an ancient, decayed look. Yet another version includes wings, alluding to the Reaper's status as Azrael, the Angel of Death from ancient lore. Regardless of the costume you choose, each one also comes with a creepy skull mask to hide your identity.

Finish off your look with a nice sturdy scythe to carry around!
