About Queen

A queen is a woman of royalty in a royal family. A queen can come into the position in a few different ways. First a queen may arrive at the title by marrying a prince, who later becomes a king. The queen may be the daughter of a king, who she will succeed on his death. Typically a queen starts as a princess and works up to the title of queen. Not all female members of royal families will be able to hold the title of queen. It is only the female who is next in line for the throne in the country. In some cultures the queen can be elected by the people, though this is rare.

Dressing up as Queen

There are numerous queen costumes to choose from. Maleficent, Queen Elizabeth, and others make for lovely costumes. You will first need to decide if you want to be a Disney Queen or a queen from history to determine how to dress. For example you could choose Cleopatra which is markedly different from Queen Victoria. The most typical queen costume is from the Middle Ages with hooped skirts, and a tight bodice for the dress. Some costumes have high collars, crowns, and wands, while others do not.
