He's strong to the finish, because he eats his spinach. (Hey, it beats steroids, right?) Popeye the Sailor Man, named for his squinted eye, was the creation of cartoonist Elzie Chrisler Segar, and made his debut in "Thimble Theatre" in 1929. Constantly at odds with the obnoxious Bluto, Popeye was frequently seen with his sweetheart Olive Oyl and her nephew Sweet Pea. Popeye was played by comedian/actor Robin Williams in the 1980 live-action film.

Dressing up as Popeye

In a range of sizes, the Popeye costume comes complete with a black sailor shirt with red collar, blue pants with a cartoonish yellow belt, a white sailor hat, and of course, a set of padded muscular sailor forearms decorated with an anchor tattoo.
