About Playing Card
The playing card or deck of playing cards has a unique history that is not quite solid. We are still uncertain as to where the first deck was ever made. However, many historians suggest that playing cards have an Indian origin due to the symbols on the European decks. In fact the Sicilian cards of the early centuries have many symbols akin to India. The ring, sword, cup, and baton are considered classic features of the four hands of Indian Statues. When studying the history of the playing card historians also believe that cards existed in England as early as the 13th century and that the first game played was one the King and the Queen. Of course it could also just be a reference to chess. Most believe that playing cards were in Europe as early as 1278 and that it was Petrarch who offered them for the first time.
Dressing up as Playing Card
Despite the history being filled with discrepancies a playing card for Halloween or other costume parties makes a great choice. Alice in Wonderland is just one story in which playing cards play a huge role making the costumes even more fun. As a playing card you will have a face to the card as well as the back of the card. The outfit will be displayed with the face of the card on the front and the back of the card behind in a life sized card. You have a choice in the face of the card as well as size. The whole family could be a deck of cards if you wish.
